1935 – Ford V8 Roadster

Even with the considerable improvements of the 4-cylinder, the main star of the line was the Model 18 with its V8, which competed with Chevrolet's inline 6-cylinder.

It was the first time Ford offered a second type of engine.

The model's name abbreviated in numbers "the first Ford V8," but to the general public and for posterity, it became simply known as the Ford V8.

On March 9, 1932, the first Ford V8 unit was completed.

The major exterior difference of the Model 18 compared to the previous Model B (a car from the same collection undergoing restoration) was the placement of a running greyhound on the radiator cap.

Regarding the engine difference, the first one offered 15 more horsepower.
