1952 – Peugeot 203 Pick-Up

Copying has always been a common act in the automotive industry.

In the post-war period, all companies tried to make something new (or something that looked new) with what already existed.

Taking advantage and saving were key words, but also to reestablish oneself, to get back on one's feet.

In France, Citroën was doing well in the market with the Traction Avant model; the small 2CV was almost ready, and Renault was moving forward with the project of the also popular 4CV, the 'Renault Beetle'.

In turn, Peugeot wanted to make a medium and popular car to fill a market gap.

The existing models, 202 and 402, were quite aged.

The design of this new car began to be developed during World War II.

In 1948, at the Paris Motor Show, the 203 was presented. Initially a four-door, later other body styles appeared, including this pick-up version.
