1955 – Vauxhall Velox EIPV

In August 1951, a longer and wider Velox was launched, designated as the EIP series, featuring a modern 'three-box' shape and unitary construction.

The body was again shared with the 4-cylinder Wyvern.

The car was launched with the engine from the previous model, but with power increased to 58 hp.

In August 1954, a significant change in appearance was made.

The most obvious of the many aesthetic changes was a new front grille, and the turn indicators were replaced with flashing lights (red at the rear, in American style).

More important was the introduction at this time of a sister model, under the Vauxhall Cresta brand.

In addition to higher equipment levels, the Cresta stood out for a two-tone paint finish.

The 1954 VELOX also differed from the 1953 model, which had a side-opening hood, by having a front-opening hood.
