1915 – Ford T Speedster

The Ford T is considered the one that put the World on wheels.
It was Joseph Galamb who, at Henry Ford's request, sketched and designed the famous Ford T, but the Speedsters were quite different, as they came from the factory in chassis form, later receiving a more sporty body.
Some versions from the 1920s had a modified engine to produce more power, the suspension was lowered, and, it is estimated, they already had some rudimentary disc brakes.
Thse versions had a remarkable top speed, over 120 km/h, quite safe, being limited by the low efficiency of the brakes.
In the case of this model presented here, it was a racing car in its time, hence it only had two seats, only a small windscreen instead of the traditional tall glass (Aerodynamics were already being considered), and two spare tires for long-distance races.
It can almost be said that at the time there were no two identical Speedsters, and today few remain.
This beautiful Ford T Speedster model is one of the few existing in Europe and unique in Portugal.
