1955 – Kleinschnittger F125

Kleinschnittger was a German company that between 1950 and 1957 produced microcars.

The production of this microcar was quite conscientious in terms of cost, with an aluminum body, tubular chassis supported on rubber bands, ILO engine derived from motorcycles of the same brand (the engine is started with a wound steel cable, similar to lawnmowers), and the front grille was made from pots of the old Nazi army (on average, one pot was enough for two grilles).

The Kleinschnittger is so light that it can easily be lifted with just one hand (having no reverse gear, the car is pulled manually).

This microcar was exported to 22 countries including Portugal, with its importer being the company Couto & Dias, in Porto. Since Kleinschnittger was a very difficult name to pronounce, this microcar was renamed 'RABANETE' (RADISH), because it was small and only produced in two colors, red or white.

Its distributor in Lisbon was the company Frimex, Lda., at Av. António Augusto de Aguiar, 30 A-B-C.
