1948 – Willys Jeep CJ-2A

The CJ-2A was the first civilian jeep produced in series, nicknamed the "Universal Jeep" by Willys.
Just like the CJ-2 Agrijeep that preceded it, the CJ-2A was intended for agricultural and industrial applications.
One of the main differences of the CJ-2A is the grille with 7 slots.
Willys could not use the 9-slot design of the Willys MB and the CJ-2 Agrijeep because Ford held the rights, so they opted for a 7-slot design.
These seven slots became an iconic feature of the jeep and are still used today.
